  • Do you have a sample wedding weekend itinerary?

    At The Inn at Taughannock Falls, we will help you craft not only a stunning wedding day but an entire weekend itinerary of unique and exciting activities for your guests to enjoy. The Finger Lakes region offers distinctive experiences in a picturesque setting. Our event planners can tailor a weekend full of lasting memories at the Inn and local destinations.

     

    FRIDAY

    3PM — Inn at Taughannock Falls staff welcomes your guests at our front
desk, checking them into their on-site accommodations and presenting them with their weekend schedule and the unique gift bag that you have left for them.

    4PM — The wedding party begins gathering for the practice ceremony, led by our event planning team and the officiant they have helped source for you.

    5PM — Your rehearsal dinner begins in the Jones Room. You've customized a champagne tower and a special dessert, but the surprise is that you've arranged a private two-hour boat tour for your wedding party, and it docks right across the street at Taughannock Falls State Park.

     

    SATURDAY

    7AM — To begin your day vibrantly you take a fifteen- minute hike along the Gorge Trail in the State Park next door, this hike culminates in views of the 215ft vertical drop waterfall.

    8AM — Continental breakfast in the hotel is provided to you and your on-site guests.

    9AM — Depart the estate to take a tour of Cornell University's Botanical Gardens and have a swim
next to Buttermilk State Park's waterfalls. Your wedding guests enjoy local activities before the event commences including golfing in Trumansburg, the Museum of Glass in Corning and the Finger Lakes State Park in Watkins Glen.

    12PM — After lunch, your in-room massage begins, as your event planners are liaising with your vendors and preparing your event.

    1PM - Hair stylists and makeup artists arrive to the on-site wedding lounge. You kick off getting ready with Mimosas and a custom break package ordered from our in-house catering team.

    3PM — The wedding party comes together on the patio for your first look. Photos are snapped, and cigars and cocktails are readily available.

    5PM — Your guests are seated, and your ceremony begins. There's only one person you have eyes for at this moment.

    6PM — Wedding photos take place across the estate, including by Cayuga Lake and at the Taughannock Falls Overlook with the entirety of Taughannock Gorge in the backdrop. Your guests enjoy an elegant cocktail hour with decadent hors d'oeuvres and Finger Lakes Wines at the bar.

    7PM — Your wedding dinner opens. Course after course of your menu comes out, perfectly prepared and previously customized with our executive catering team. Every detail is just the way you had planned.

    8PM — Your wedding cake is cut, and your DJ or band opens the floor for dancing. Everyone is jubilant and you're more excited than ever to celebrate this special day with your loved ones.

    9PM — Your fireworks show showers the night sky with a brilliant display of light. You've set the scene to music, and your guests' smiles can be seen every time another spark lights the sky.

    11PM — The party continues into the night, late night bites are served to keep the energy going!

    1AM — Your event wraps up but the on-site restaurant opens to serve a breakfast buffet for you and your guests. Your event planning team is seamlessly taking care of break down and décor storage, and you don't have to worry about a thing.

     

    SUNDAY

    8AM — A brisk walk through the park as
a newly married couple, starts off the day right, reminiscing about our wonderful night of celebration.

    10AM — A farewell brunch is your send off to your guests, a chef catered omelet station and prime rib carving send guests home well and truly satisfied.

    11AM — The event planning team delivers your décor and personal items from overnight storage, and you depart the Inn
at Taughannock Falls. Your first memory as
a married couple is complete, and this little piece of your history starts the foundation of your happily ever after.

  • Why should I get married at Taughannock?
    The Inn at Taughannock Falls has a rich and romantic history as a wedding location. Since its opening in 1935, Taughannock has hosted many weddings on its gorgeous estate. Many Cornell
and Ithaca alum return to take their vows at our property. Our 12-acre estate has four buildings with 24 guestrooms to accommodate your family and wedding guests. Surrounded by the Taughannock Falls State Park, every wedding overlooks
the beautiful Cayuga Lake. You can also host ceremonies just a short stroll away from the lake, or the lovely lower waterfall, with no additional charge. Taughannock Falls offers perfect photo backdrops for your special day.
  • Can I rent the entire estate for my wedding?
    Yes, you can rent the entire estate for your special day. The Inn at Taughannock Falls has four buildings, Victorian Inn, Edgewood, Hillside, and Parkview. Renting our entire estate for your wedding will give you access to every guestroom and suite on our property, our private houses, bar, restaurant, all the grounds, and the fire pits.
  • May I taste the food before committing to the venue?
    Our event planning team will be happy to arrange a sample tasting of our menu at a reduced fee during your menu selection process.
  • May I have input on the wedding menu?
    Of course, this is your day, and we want you to be exceptionally happy with all the details. We would be delighted to customize our menus to incorporate your distinctive tastes.
  • What are the bar options?
    We have a variety of bar packages by the hour. We also provide options for a cash bar, consumption bar, or just wine and champagne service.
  • How late can our event last?

    New York State law requires us to stop alcohol
 sales by 1AM. If you have rented one of our private homes, you are welcome to keep the party going behind closed doors. In all exterior venues, the
band has to lower its volume no later than 11 pm. If utilizing our inside venue, you are required to book the bedrooms on the second floor of the Victorian Inn as part of your package if you want to host a live music party or DJ. These luxury accommodations can be used as your overnight lodging at the Inn.
